GP Scoring
Method:
1. Definitions:
○ S = Each shooter's match score,
■ This will be applied to a curve established by the highest scorer in each
division
○ H = Highest scorer in each division
○ T = Troyer course difficulty
○ G = Grand Prix Score
○ Divisions: Combining PCP and Piston provides better representation and data
points in less attended classes.
■ Hunter PCP and Piston
■ Open PCP and Piston
■ WFTF PCP and Piston
2. Troyer Course Difficulties:
○ The traditional difficulty factors are applied for specific conditions:
■ Distance and KZ size
■ Standing and kneeling positions
■ Inclined targets (minimum 15o up or down)
■ Targets past 45 yards
○ Light and wind factors are excluded from this calculation.
3. Calculation method to determine maximum score for each course:
○ The maximum course Troyer difficulty allowed is 36 with factors described above in
(2)
○ Each course's Troyer rating T is subtracted from the maximum allowed Troyer of 36.
○ This number is then multiplied by 0.5 and subtracted from the maximum points of
100, determining the points awarded to the top shooter in each division.
4. Formula: The formula for each shooter's Grand Prix score is:

((Shooter score / Highest score in given division) * 100) - ((36 - Troyer course difficulty) * 0.5)
= Grand Prix Score.

Or,

((S/H) * 100) - ((36 - T) * 0.5) = G

The purpose of this method is to evaluate a shooter’s ability across different venues and varying
course difficulties and to provide a fair comparison among peers in each class. It continues to
utilize the Troyer difficulty influence, however, to a lesser percentage to adjust the GP score.
