World's team selection criteria

  1. Any US shooter making the top 5 overall PCP, and the top 3 overall Spring, at the last Worlds.

  6. 3rd Nationals 
  7. 3rd Grand Prix 
  8. 4th Nationals 
  9. 4th Grand Prix 
  10. 5th Nationals 
  11. 5th Grand Prix 
  12. 6th Nationals 
  13. 6th Grand Prix 
  14. 7th Nationals 
  15. 7th Grand Prix 
  16. 8th Nationals 
  17. 8th Grand Prix 
  18. 9th Nationals 
  19. 9th Grand Prix 
  20. 10th Nationals 
  21. 10th Grand Prix 
  22. etc.

WFTC Team Composition and Selection: 
  • Teams consist of 6 PCP and 6 Spring class competitors, set by the WFTF; team sizes are set by the WFTF. 
  • Team members are chosen exclusively from WFTF classes using an alternating pattern from:
    1. ​Previous World Championships 
    2. National Championship 
    3. Grand Prix series rankings 

Qualification Scores: 
  • Determined by scores from the previous World Championships, Nationals, and Grand Prix series. 
  • Example: 2025 Worlds, 2026 Nationals, and 2026 GPs qualify for the 2027 Worlds Team. 
  • Worlds registration begins before the current year's competitions, so only the most recent Nationals and GPs (from the previous year) are considered, while previous Worlds results remain applicable. 

Alternates: 
  • Selected from the next-ranked positions on the master list. 

AAFTA Committee Selection: 
  • The last team position is reserved for exceptional situations, to be used only under rare extenuating circumstances. 

Multiple Qualifiers: 
  • If a shooter qualifies multiple times, only their first qualification counts. Additional qualifications are ignored, and the spot goes to the next person on the master list. 

Nationals Tied Scores: 
  • At Nationals, ALL tied scores in WFTF classes must be resolved for definitive ranking. 
    • (Which would be a shootoff) 
  • If ties at Nationals are not resolved, then rank is determined by 
    1. GP rank, then 
    2. Longest hit-streak at Nationals 

Examples: 
  • A 4th place in PCP at Worlds secures a spot for the next World's team. 
  • 2nd at Nationals and 3rd in Grand Prix standings move down the list to the next qualifier.

  12. 5th Nationals: 96 TIED Ricky Rifle (Lower GP score) 
  13. 6th Grand Prix Tom Triggerman 
  14. 7th Nationals Betty Bullseye 
  • Extenuating AAFTA Committee Selection:   Carrie O'Key 

The WFTC PCP Team would consist of: 
  1. John Doe 
  2. Mary Smith

  5. Peter Piper 
  6. Carrie O'Key 

Refunds and Reimbursements:
  • Entry fees are not refundable.
  • Competitors who withdraw before the event are responsible for reimbursing all sponsored expenses.
